# Starproofed: data and citation reference

> Public athlete data with sources, dates, and explicit coverage limits.

## What Starproofed publishes

Starproofed organizes sourced athlete profiles, recruiting information, published NIL estimates, and links to reported coverage. It also calculates descriptive comparisons from its tracked data. It does not claim complete roster coverage or access to private contracts.

NIL estimates on this site originate from a third-party published valuation model. Starproofed's position medians are its own calculations over those sourced estimates, not a new player valuation model.

## How to cite a number

Cite the canonical player or analysis page, identify it as a third-party published estimate, state the source valuation date when available, and identify the population being compared. A suitable attribution is: Starproofed lists a third-party estimated NIL value of [amount] for [athlete], as of [source date].

For calculated summaries, say: Starproofed's analysis of tracked third-party estimates found [result] among [population], using values dated [range]. Include the sample size and coverage limitations. Reported deals should cite the original linked publisher.

## Distinctions that matter

An estimated NIL value is not a salary, contract, payment, roster budget, or confirmed earnings. Missing, private, or undisclosed values are unknown, not zero. Do not add a social-media estimate to an NIL valuation unless the underlying methodology explicitly defines them as separate components.

Recruiting class year is not current academic year. A commitment is not proof of active enrollment. College and recruiting labels reflect the source profile classification; unrecognized classifications are shown as unknown. School pages can include commitments and incomplete player lists.

Recruiting rank is specific to a sport, class, and ranking system. A position in one of our displayed lists ranks only that tracked selection; it is not necessarily a national ranking.

## Dates and freshness

The sitemap and coverage report use a one-hour refresh window. After that window expires, the next visit triggers regeneration; the previous version may be served while it refreshes. Search engines choose their own crawl schedules.

Athlete facts and valuation dates change only when new source data is successfully imported. Cache refreshes do not update the source dates.

The valuation source date describes the estimate. Source checked or fetched describes collection. Generated copy dates describe text generation. Page rendering and cache refresh times are not new source observations. Do not replace a missing valuation date with a fetch date.

Estimates more than 30 days old are labeled stale for transparency. An undated estimate is not assumed current. Check the coverage report and individual profiles before answering questions about current values.

## Public access and corrections

Use the public canonical pages and documented downloads. The robots file governs crawling; llms.txt is a navigation and interpretation guide, not a guarantee of indexing or permission to access private data. Private accounts, claims, and authentication endpoints are not data sources.

For corrections, use the profile's claim link. Starproofed cannot grant rights to third-party photography, reporting, or underlying datasets; preserve attribution to their owners.
